So you've got a fancy new Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular, or you've jumped in with the more affordable Series 1 or bagged a Watch Series 2. You're extremely excited, but you also want to skip out on all that fumbling around and get straight to it.

The good news is that watchOS 4, Apple's smartwatch operating system, is one of the more comprehensive on the market. This makes for a steep learning curve, but there's a great amount of opportunity for customization. And things are only set to improve when watchOS 5 lands later this year. We've already spent some time with an early version of the software, and we'll soon be updating this list with tips on upcoming features, such as the new notification management and Walkie Talkie.

We've reviewed all the recent models from the best brands to help you discover which is the best laptop for your own personal needs

If you're looking to buy a new laptop, then you've come to the right place, as our best laptops list gathers the top notebooks money can buy in 2018.

Not matter what kind of laptop you're looking for, from incredibly thin and light ultrabooks, to budget machines and gaming laptops, our best laptops list has the top suggestions for your needs.

Our best laptops list is also constantly updated with the latest laptops that we feel are worthy on inclusion, and every laptop on this list has been carefully tested and reviewed by us, so you can be sure that only the very best laptops are included.

With our recommendations, along with our very own price comparison tool, it's never been easier to buy the best laptop for your needs.

1. Huawei MateBook X Pro

The Huawei MateBook X Pro is our pick for the best laptop money can buy in 2018. After years of this list being dominated by the (still excellent) Dell XPS 13, the MateBook X Pro has proved to be a truly brilliant challenger. This is a gorgeously-designed laptop with a stunning screen (albeit with a rather odd aspect ratio), and it comes packed with cutting edge components that allows it to perform brilliantly, and a battery life that runs rings around many of its rivals. It also has a very competitive price, giving you features, design and performance for quite a bit less money

2. Dell XPS 13

Still one of the best laptops ever made

CPU: 8th generation Intel Core i5 – i7 | Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620 | RAM: 8GB – 16GB | Screen: 13.3-inch FHD (1,920 x 1,080) – 4k (3840 x 2160) | Storage: 256GB – 1TB SSD

Beautiful optional 4K display

Even though the Dell XPS 13 has been knocked into second place by the sublime MateBook Pro X, it’s still an absolutely brilliant laptop. There’s a good reason why it was at the top of our best laptops list for three years running. The 2018 Dell XPS 13 is a slimmer, more powerful version of the award-winning laptop with a stunning 4K display and a gorgeous Rose Gold on Alpine White color option. The Dell XPS 13 rocks an 8th-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and a bezel-less ‘Infinity Edge’ display, this Dell XPS 13 continues to be the most popular Windows laptop in the world. Its 2-in-1 design means you can use it as both a laptop and a tablet, and while it's not as affordable as some machines on this list, if you have the budget you'll be really happy with this fantastic device.

Apple can't stop iPhone XS leaks, and that means we know a lot about it and the massively large iPhone XS Max before they officially launch on September 12.

We're in for a familiar-looking 5.8-inch iPhone XS and a bigger iPhone XS Max, both with nearly bezel-less notched OLED screens, according to the latest rumors.

Below, you can witness the new phones close up for the first time in official-looking photos, though the designs are shrouded in some artful shadow. Don't worry, we know plenty about them thanks to several convincing leaks from 9to5Mac.

All of the critical leaks come just days before Apple will announce its new phones at the Steve Jobs Theater on Wednesday, September 12. We'll be there to report on the Apple event live.

We're actually anticipating three new iPhones in 2018: the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and a 'cheaper' 6.1-inch iPhone with an LCD screen. We're calling it iPhone 9 for now, but it may simply be called 'iPhone'.

Previously, iPhone rumors called these phones the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Plus, and the cheaper iPhone 9. That's all going to change if the newest report is correct. The iPhone XS Plus name also appears to be out in favor of iPhone XS Max.

iPhone XS release date

  • Wednesday, September 12 – iPhone XS launch event date
  • Friday, September 14 – iPhone XS pre-order (estimated)
  • Friday, September 21 or 28 – (likely) iPhone XS release date

The iPhone XS launch and release date will likely happen all within September, and we have some specifics for you – finally.

Wednesday, September 12 is when Apple's is poised to announce the iPhone XS at its 'Special Event' for 2018, and there will be a live stream of this launch event.

We'll get our first glimpse (and hands-on time) of the phones at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in San Jose, California – and yes, that's where the iPhone Xwas launched last year on the same exact date.

This launch event date means the actual iPhone XS release date is likely to be Friday, September 21, or Friday, September 28. Apple typically launches new iPhones on a Friday, one to two weeks after CEO Tim Cook unveils everything on stage. We're betting on September 21 if Apple doesn't have inventory issues.

Here's another date: September 14. That's when, at midnight in your country, you can expect iPhone XS preorders to begin.

In the US, pre-orders tend to start at 3am Eastern simply because Apple launches pre-orders at midnight Pacific, its home time zone.

Keep in mind that the iPhone X came out on Friday, November 3, 2017. This is going to cause some people, especially in the US, a problem when trying to upgrade on a year-long plan.

However, Apple and carriers may announce a solution on September 12, with incentivized iPhone trade-in options. There're not going to turn down your desire to give them more money over the next year.

iPhone XS price

  • iPhone XS price estimate: $1,000 (£1,000, AU$1,579)
  • iPhone XS Max price estimate $1,199 (£1,199, AU$1,714)
  • Cheapest iPhone 2018 may cost $699 (£699, AU$1,079)

The iPhone XS price may be $999 (£999, AU$1,579), inheriting the iPhone X 64GB price tag, while the iPhone XS Max will undoubtedly be more expensive.

That thinking has been backed up by analysts from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, who also predict that the iPhone XS price will match that of the iPhone X from last year.

There have been rumors that not all iPhone 2018 models will ship in September – the cheaper LCD 6.1-inch iPhone may slip to October.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch is one of the most refined smartwatches you can buy today, with an aesthetically pleasing design, cohesive user interface and, importantly, four-day battery life.

It’s everything the Apple Watch 3 is not – for better and worse. Let's start with what's better. The Galaxy Watch looks and feels like a high-end wrist watch, with a circular stainless steel case and decorative bezel. It’s both stylish and functional because, like the previous Gear S3, the bezel rotates to cycle through its various on-screen menus.

This is the most satisfying way to navigate a smartwatch. Your fingers won’t cover up the watch’s small, hard-to-accurately-target touchscreen (an issue with any smartwatch), and it’s an idea exclusive to Samsung’s newer watches. You won’t find rotating bezels supported by Google’s Wear OS, while Apple’s watchOS uses a less intuitive rotating digital crown button on the side. This is one of two reasons why the Galaxy Watch runs Samsung’s Tizen software, not Wear OS.

Knock Knock.

Hey Appliance Fans,

When I was hired at Kieffer’s Appliances, I thought an oven was an oven and a dishwasher was a dishwasher and so on. They were all the same to me, but now I know better. If you’ve read the blog before, you know that appliances have so many different features that separate one brand, or model, from another. I’m continuously amazed to see what bells and whistles manufacturers come up with to outdo themselves, and they always think of something. Enter Miele’s Knock2Open dishwashers.

What are Miele Knock2Open Dishwashers?

Available on the Lumen dishwasher (model G6595SCViK2o) and the Diamond dishwasher (model G6985SCViK2o) in custom wood panel fronts only, you literally knock twice on the front and the door automatically opens. It’s very cool.

Why Would You Want Knock2Open Technology?

If you’re going for a modern kitchen design and your cabinetry doesn’t have handles or minimalistic handles, Knock2Open dishwashers ensure that you keep continuity throughout your base cabinets:
